Frequently Asked Questions

Does Zero to Sixty require a certain skill level?

Nope! This course is for anyone, from absolute beginners to intermediate artists with a few years of experience. We begin with fundamental skills everyone should master (but many people skip) before diving into methods that make a huge difference, especially while working on location.

What is the course format?

Zero to Sixty is a boot camp style course that tries to cover as much ground as possible in about five week. Each week focuses on one lesson and corresponding assignment, which is explained over a recorded video call (Tuesdays 8 PM EST).

Additional resources, drawing challenges, and secondary assignments will be released throughout the course to maximize your time commitment and guide your practice afterward.

All students will be invited to a private Slack channel/discussion board, where they can connect with other artists and share their progress.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Interest-free options are available during checkout through Klarna.

What is the time commitment? What if I can't attend a meeting?

Zero to Sixty is designed to be challenging but accomplishable, even if you have a busy schedule.

Each weekly lesson (Tuesdays at 8 PM EST) takes about 75 minutes. (These are live meetings, but they're recorded, so you'll have no problem catching up if you can't attend one.)

After that, the weekly assignments take about 2 hours. If you fall behind, don't worry. You're welcome to submit homework anytime for instructor feedback. If you have a clearer schedule, there are optional drawing challenges that you can complete during or after the course to flex your skills in different ways.

If you ever have questions, you're welcome to post them in our private Slack community space or attend an open office hour session (Thursdays 12 PM and 7 PM EST.)

What materials do I need?

This course can be completed with basic materials: a large sketchbook (or loose copy paper), a pack of index cards, any old pen that flows well, and about 6 colored pencils.

Will we learn a specific style?

Zero to Sixty is an observational drawing course with material that overlaps with urban sketching and reportage illustration. Rather than learn a style, you will develop your own approach that leverages your unique strengths, values, and interests.

What is your refund policy?
