About the Artist
Kevin Zych is an event sketch artist, illustrator, and host of several drawing classes in New York City.
His work focuses on reportage illustration–the practice of documenting events and experiences through live, on-location drawings.
Along with creating social media content about reportage, Kevin regularly teaches Introduction to Urban Sketching, a beginner-friendly drawing workshop in Grand Central Terminal.
Outside of Drawing...
Before pursuing the arts, Kevin spent three years as a resident student at Dai Bosatsu Zendo, a Rinzai Zen temple in the Catskill Mountains. During school months, he worked part-time as a substitute teacher and arts curriculum writer for children's theatre programs.
A lifelong runner, Kevin completed four marathons and has run hundreds of miles (to the subway, FedEx, the library, etc.) to make everything you see on this website possible. That's all to say thanks for stopping by.
