Custom Guest Drawings for Land Rover

This spring, I was invited to make live sketches for guests at Destination Defender, an annual celebration of all things outdoors that Land Rover hosts every year for their customers.

The weekend led to many great conversations with guests, plenty of smiles, and some fun sketches that everyone got to take home.

Before we started, the Land Rover team and I discussed our goals for the activation and how we wanted to create a memorable experience. One takeaway was that the drawings should create a personal touchpoint, not just an illustration, so each sketch began with the guest, their weekend, and how their unique Land Rover fits into their travels.

Almost everyone there was a true car enthusiast–the kind of fan who sourced custom rigs and parts to make their SUV special. Focusing on that, we created one-of-a-kind postcards that highlighted the details that made their vehicle their own: utility step ladders, extra tall tires, or even just a dog in the window. Afterward, I had a few customers tell me they planned to frame the work at home, which I think means we hit the mark from a loyalty perspective!
