Service Description
There is a terrible myth that drawing is a rare talent that only a few gifted individuals can enjoy. That's simply not true! As you will learn, drawing is about seeing, and we only need a few observational techniques to begin making original sketches from observation. From there, all of life becomes art, and we can illustrate each moment in unique and compelling ways. This 90-minute session takes place in the iconic atrium of Grand Central Terminal, a lively and inspiring atmosphere. Materials will be provided so you can simply come as you are, however, you're also welcome and encouraged to bring your own sketchbook and pen. For this introduction, nothing fancier is necessary. To make the most of our time, I'll push you to try exercises that might seem a little unfamiliar or counterintuitive at the moment but will prove useful in the end. So far, over two hundred people have taken the class–most of them beginners– and everyone has walked away with confidence and enthusiasm about their newly-discovered ability. When: Saturdays at 12:00 PM Noon Where: Grand Central Station, under the clock in the main atrium. Order soon - each session is limited to 12 guests. Bring one or more friends and save $15 per person. Private group sessions are available upon request. Please note we'll be standing in and walking around a public space for the 90-minute session, so wear something comfortable and save coffee and drinks for later. There are public bathrooms in the food court one level beneath where we'll meet.
