Intro to Urban Sketching

Start drawing your best life with this entry-level workshop.

About the Class

Most people think drawing is a rare talent that only a few gifted individuals can enjoy, but that's simply not true! As you will learn, drawing is about seeing, and we only need a few observational techniques to begin making original sketches from scratch. From there, all of life becomes art, and we can illustrate each moment in unique and compelling ways. This 90-minute session takes place in the iconic halls of Grand Central Terminal, which is easily accessible by train and close to other major landmarks. Materials (sketchbooks and pens) are available for you to use during class so you can simply come as you are. To make the most of our time, I'll push you to try exercises that might seem a little unfamiliar or counterintuitive at the moment but will prove useful in the end. So far, over 300 people have taken the class–most of them beginners– and everyone has walked away with confidence and enthusiasm about their newly discovered ability. When: Most Saturdays at 12:00 PM Noon Where: Grand Central Terminal Private group sessions are available upon request.
