Every January, some of the biggest names in contemporary jazz converge in New York for a series of concerts across multiple venues.

As an artist with a special passion for sketching musicians, I made a quick passion project for the event as a way of demonstrating how original art, more so than documentary photographs, can capture what an evening feels like, not just what it looks like.
